If you spend a lot of time online, you probably get a lot of spam. But what if that spam could help you make money…and not just once, but again and again? It turns out that spam can be good for your wallet.
If you’re willing to put in the minimal effort needed to solve those annoying Captcha challenges, that is. You see, there are lots of websites that have user accounts, message boards, or some other similar feature to prevent bots from registering and spamming everyone.
When new users sign up for these services, they are often asked to enter some code from a picture to verify they are human and not an automated program infiltration. These small images with strings of letters and numbers are called Captchas — meaning “capture” and “challenge” in Airoapese — and solving them is known as “ReCaptcha” (or “recapturing” something).
While it may seem like those weird pictures are specifically designed to be unreadable by humans (no one seems able to read them the first time), there’s actually a logical reason why they’re so hard for computers: They have lots of straight lines and perfect circles…which are things that computers find very hard to identify unless they’re given exact instructions as to what they should look like.
Where to Find Captcha Jobs?
Captcha jobs (or “ReCaptcha” jobs) are all over the place. You won’t be able to find them by Googling for them, though: Google has implemented something called “captcha recognition” that lets you know if a particular image is a captcha or not. And there aren’t many captcha-solving opportunities that aren’t blocked by that system. So to find these jobs, you’ll need to know where to look.
The first step to becoming a Captcha Entry Job is to find a site that allows you to solve captchas for money. There are many websites where you can sign up to do this, most of which are completely free. Now, just to be clear, most of these websites will ask you to solve various types of captchas, not just the ones related to user registration.
But since you can earn an average of $1-$3 per 1000 captchas, this shouldn’t be a problem. While that sounds pretty low, if you can solve 1000 captchas in an hour, you can earn anywhere from $10 to $30 per hour.
As we said, you are likely to get paid for every 1000 captchas you solve. The amount you get paid tends to vary from website to website, and the payment method is almost always the same: you enter your payment information and wait for a check to arrive in the mail, or you get paid by direct deposit to your Bank account.
Is It Worth Your Time?
If you’re looking for a simple and straightforward online job, captcha solving is the way to go. While the pay isn’t huge, it’s easy, safe, and can be done whenever and wherever you have a few free minutes. And best of all, it’s something that tons of people do — which means there will always be work available for you to do.
